Well I guess this is what two years did to my art. 100% more sass. 50% less effort. I am a lazy person.

2010: [link]
2012: [link]

EDIT: So I realized that I am an impatient and rash person because this is not a very good comparison, seeing as I spent roughly 6 times more time and effort into the first one. har har har

EDIT-EDIT: Unearthed an even older version. Whoo. At least now you can see the emotional progression of the character from moderately colorful emo child to slick sassmaster (totally unintentional on all accounts, I assure you)

I like it how his clothes and hair are getting more fashionable with each picture :D

Oh this is awesome improvement - not just on the more aesthetic sense but also on the sense of being able to denote more personality in your character.

I mean I have nothing against stoic characters but I personally like the overall expression on your newest piece.

The newest piece also seems more cohesive as a whole and the colors are much more vibrant

Although details-wise, I like the second one the most. Then again, redrawing him with that design would be tedious on your part due to the sheer amount of details

Thanks! And I agree with you about the details; I spent way more time on the second one than any of the others. I just wanted to challenge myself to do something different than the excessively complex stuff I always used to do.

On the upside, the new guy is colorful and knows how to lean with it.

They both look really great, but I liked the prior one better than the latter. XD

Yeah, I can see why you'd think so. The stylistic difference is pretty drastic. I just wanted to stray from something too anime-ish.

Yes. xD
They both look good in there own right though.

The one on the right is far better. Better sense of anatomy/facial positioning and you've clearly developed your own style.

The one on the left is clearly more detailed, but in a cartoonist approach it's usually better to leave out the detail. I do like the cleaner linework in the left one, which can easily be implemented to the style on the right.

Additionally your colouring work on the right is better, due to the pallet you used. It's much more interesting than the flat colours in your previous.

TLDR; I like it!

Thanks for the comments XD

Yeah, I was aiming for a sleeker look in the new one, since I'd rather have a simpler and bolder design than the detailed but somewhat excessive old design. Plus I wanted to try something a bit more stylized than what I usually do (in addition to being a bit too lazy to do precise linework, heh). You're awesome for taking the time out to comment on this!
